Foundation Derbyshire Launches Flood Relief Appeal

Foundation Derbyshire has launched the Derbyshire Flood Relief Appeal in response to the recent flooding in parts of Derbyshire and Derby City. By donating to this Appeal, you will be helping us to support the individuals, families and communities that have been affected.

This appeal has been launched in response to the sudden and unexpected deluge that the county experienced around the 9th November, 2019. The excessive rainfall came through people’s homes and other properties, and the communities in the Derwent Valley, the City of Derby, and other dales in the north of the County were severely impacted.

Foundation Derbyshire Chief Executive, Rachael Grime said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of so many who have already donated to the appeal.

“With more rain expected, the clear-up operation will be extensive and extremely distressing for those involved. We’re anxious to help as many as we can repair the damage and get back on their feet without delay.”

Chairman, Oliver Stevenson, added: “The team are working hard to put in place a grants application process as quickly as possible for those adversely affected by recent flooding.

“As you can imagine, these processes do take a little time, so please check our website for detailed updates.”
