The Fund is a legacy from Hazel who sadly passed away in 2013.
Hazel’s close relationship with the Foundation arose from her volunteer work on our High Peak panel and via her involvement with Community ACES, based in Earl Sterndale. She had a passion for arts and crafts and its power to bring people from within a community together – sharing, learning, talking and caring.
It’s with Hazel’s passion and commitment in mind that we developed her Fund to support local community groups that are undertaking craft-based projects in rural areas and getting local residents together to develop skills and build friendships. The Fund makes grants, selected from the hundreds of applications we receive from across our great County.
Our thanks also go to Hazel and Ken’s children for working with us to develop the Fund’s criteria and allowing us to tell you about Hazel and Ken’s wonderful and permanent legacy to our endowment and county
