The Old Vicarage School in Darley Abbey uses Foundation Derbyshire in a unique and exciting way.
We help connect its pupils and the school community to local charities and small voluntary groups striving to make a difference in the City.
The school holds an annual fundraising ball, the proceeds of which feed into their own fund held within the Foundation. This has created a permanent and growing legacy for the staff and pupils, who each November select a local group from a wide range vetted and put forward by the Foundation.
In December 2013 the Old Vicarage pupils opted to support Derby Stroke Club and as well as providing a financial grant the children also performed a Carol concert for the members.
“It was absolutely wonderful to hear the choir, the icing on the cake! For those members who have little chance to socialise it was a fantastic morale boost in the run up to Christmas”-Stroke Club Chair
