We always like to get out and visit those groups we’ve been able to support with a grant.
Today we were thrilled to spend some time with Dena and her team of staff and volunteers at Heanor Salcare.
They run a much-needed bank of services, which help local residents who are facing difficult times, either financially and/or emotionally. Their members may need practical help with laundry, a hot affordable meal or more intense support with escaping domestic abuse or overcoming debt problems.
We chatted about the challenges Salcare faces, the work still to be done and how the Foundation will always provide a vital lifeline to Derbyshire groups who need core funding to make that tangible day to day difference to the lives of local people.
