A simple, small grant to a local craft group – what can that achieve?
The simple act of coming together and ‘doing’, it makes a difference to people and it’s a difference that lasts…………….
At Carousel it’s not JUST about crafting, we all support each other through our personal difficult times, we are each others’ shoulder to cry on when it’s needed. We talk about anything, give each other advice, share information that might be helpful. A support network.
The Ashby Fund was able to support Carousel Crafts with their community work, in the field of mental health, by providing a small but crucial grant of £1,000. As the group, running since 1996, have identified, their simple club offers a lifeline – reducing loneliness and the fear of isolation.
